I wanted to do a check-in and see how your wellness routine is shaping up for January.

The beginning of a new year is a natural time to make big declarations of change, but we often find it hard to stay disciplined, and to hold ourselves accountable.

Habits take time to build, it can be a frustrating process and when we don’t see results immediately, we give up before new habits take hold.

Changing a bad habit or establishing a new healthy habit is important for us to thrive and sometimes it is necessary for our longevity.

Did you know on average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behavior, the person, and the circumstances. (*Jamesclear.com)

Journaling is one of my absolute favorite self-care habits and wellness tools. I am not just saying that, journaling is a practice that I look forward to every day, and that has stood the test of time!

If I have a good day, I journal.

If I have a bad day, I journal.

If I have not much to say, I journal.

It is a wellness ritual that is accessible, cathartic, reliable and rewarding.

Journaling is a great way to slow down and to reflect on life, and to get clarity on things that perhaps have been bothering you.

Sometimes we may have feelings about a certain situation, but we don’t always know our why.

When you have a journaling practice you can practice mindfulness and get really honest with yourself.

My hope is that with a mindful journaling practice that you can be more aware of your life and your choices, and this will help you live each day with more intention.

As you ease into your weekend, I want to offer you these 3 prompts to jumpstart your journal practice!

Journal Prompts:

  1. What do you love most about your life?
  2. What are the 3 things I spend the most time doing each day?
  3. In what ways do I impact others around me each day?
