Living, working, eating and socializing within the 4 walls of our home dwelling day in and day out is probably starting to feel a little like your own personal version of Groundhog’s Day by now. Yup, I get it, I am right there with you! I, just like you, have my good days and my bad, my highs and my lows and I am here to let you know you are NOT alone.

- Let’s get spiritual, spiritual!-Connect a little deeper with some spiritual learning-there is a vast world of resources online to help you Zen out or deepen your spiritual practice. One of my favorite spiritual gurus is Eckhart Tolle and he is currently having a big spring sale on his digital offerings! Another great online resource is a 21-day meditation offered by Deepak Chopra and Oprah at the Chopracentermeditation.com.
- Nature-If you know me even just a little you could have guessed that I would include this on my list! Cloud or star gazing has become a new favorite past time of mine, singing to the birds, watering your plants/yard, planting something, nature walks, rolling around in the dirt, you know whatever feels good to you!
- Movement-Daily movement is good for our minds, bodies and souls. It is important to remain mindful and incorporate movement into your daily routine, this will reduce the production of stress hormones and get your heart rate up (a win-win!). Finding an activity that feels good to you is key to keeping a daily movement practice, not everyone’s routine will look the same, find what feels good to your body and honor that.
- Host a virtual happy hour or dinner party-Connecting with friends and family (the ones that you are NOT in quarantine with) is a guaranteed immediate mood lifter, plus with all of our technology it makes it super easy to see each other forcing us to change out of our yoga/sweat pants and brush our hair.
- Do anything that feels good to you-this may sound like a cop out and no I am not giving you cart blanche to eat a pallet of pizza or an industrial sized tub of ice cream in one sitting, balance as in all times of life even during a pandemic, is key. Yes cleaning out the closet, organizing the kitchen cabinets, doing that at-home workout and sticking to some form of a schedule on the weekdays are all great ways to occupy our time during the quarantine, but it is also OK to recognize that we are human and maybe we need to take a few hours and relax. Honor where you are at any given moment if you are feeling heavy and depleted take a nap and reset, if you are craving a sweet whip up your favorite batch of chocolate chip cookies or muffins and savor each bite. The key here is to find the balance and ride the waves of energy and motivation when they arrive knowing that you are allowed to have down time and indulge, within reason, because not every day will be your best and that is perfectly OK.
