November: A month of gratitude

Admittedly, I am a big fan of November, for many reasons…

November is my birthday month and I absolutely love to celebrate my birthday.

Life presents us with a lot of challenges, so I am always happy to lean into the good stuff.

Birthdays are the 1 day a year where it is acceptable to make it all about yourself, and to be unashamed about self-indulgences.

Plus, you get to eat cake and hopefully this cake is your absolute favorite!

Also, November is typically the first month that we really start to feel the season shifting, with the winds bringing in cooler temps and longer nights. On November 5th we turn back our clocks which means we will have a longer stretch of darkness every day.

If you are like me and these darker days are a hard adjustment, then this is the time to lean into your self-care and create rituals if you don’t already have some in place.

Looking around at your home right now think of 3 changes you can make to create a cozier space for the winter.

Some of my favorite things to do are to bring out more blankets for cozier mornings and evenings (I loooove a slow morning routine), buy a few new seasonal candles to burn and add that extra sparkle to your evenings, pull out your favorite soup recipe and make it this weekend to nourish your mind, body and soul.

Food is nourishment for our bodies but also for our soul when treated with the reverence it deserves.

During this winter season lean into your rituals, honor the shift that nature brings and remember you’ve got this!
