Pelvic Floor Therapy: Improving your sexual health through pelvic floor therapy with Dr. Krisia Gattas

Let’s normalize speaking about our sexual health! In this episode I interview Dr. Krisia Gattas who is a pelvic floor rehab therapist and the founder of Pelvic Floor Therapy South Florida. Dr. Gattas is my pelvic floor therapist and has helped me navigate the scary world of “unidentified chronic pelvic pain” that I have been dealing with since a botched uterine fibroid removal. We will explore what pelvic floor therapy is, how this treatment can save your sex life, relieve pain and how pelvic floor dysfunction can affect you emotionally and your relationship.

I met Krisia through my own journey of female reproductive issues beginning with a uterine fibroid, a botched removal, and a lot of medical gaslighting. It was through persistence and being my own fierce medical advocate that Krisia was recommended to me as a means to relieve chronic and extreme unidentified pelvic pain. I have been bounced from doctor to doctor with no definitive answers, many opinions offered, tests administered, bloodwork ordered, ultrasounds and a big pile of medical expenses, but to this day no clear answer.

The 1 medical professional that has been able to consistently offer me relief, thoughtful insight and hope has been Dr. Gattas and although I am still on my quest for answers for the cause of my recurring pain, I have found great relief through her pelvic floor therapy methods and her willingness to truly help her patients.

This is an important conversation for anyone that is currently suffering or has suffered through chronic pain. It is my intention that this conversation offer you hope and the belief that with persistence, positivity and the right medical professionals on your team that you can begin the healing journey, even if it is just one small step at a time.

If you are currently experiencing chronic pain, sexual dysfunction, pelvic floor pain or any other health issue please know that you are not alone, that there is hope.
